Volcano Hotel in Chile

Magic Mountain Lodge, is a beautifully constructed hotel on the privately owned natural reserve of Huilo Huilo in Chile. Covered in rainforest moss and vines, this manmade volcano-like structure spews water and is only accessible by a monkey bridge. And if this isn’t sufficiently magical and surreal, outside are hot tubs, carved from hollowed out tree trunks, with ideal vantage points for wildlife sightings.

Moses Bridge Cutting Through Fort de Roovere’s Moat

The Sunken Bridge is pedestrian bridge is designed by RO & AD Architects in Fort de Roovere, West Brabant Water Line region of the Netherlands. The speciality of this bridge is that it creates the illusion of walking through water. The project was recently awarded with the prestigious BNA (Union of Dutch Architects) Building of the Year 2011, Southern Region.

“From afar, the Moses Bridge is invisible to the eye. The flow of the moat appears continuous, as the water level remains at the same level, reflecting the surrounding foliage. As visitors approach the fort, the bridge appears as a break in the water with its sloping walls containing it.”

Inside The New Adidas Headquarters in Germany

Designers of the German architectural studio KINZO completed work on the design of the new headquarters of the brand Adidas, based in Hertsogenaurahe, Germany. The 1,700 staff members moved into an amazing new work space that features intertwining glass walkways made to mimic the laces of a sneaker. Berlin design company KINZO set out to create something that would reflect adidas inside and out.

The “Teamplayer” space is at the heart of the new design, supporting desktops, storage and creating a multifunctional room that looks like it’s zoned into honeycombs. In other words, the KINZO design team have created a space within a space. It lets separate teams have a specific section, but not be completely cut off from the other groups working inside the “Teamplayer.”

The entire WORKOUT furniture system is designed specifically to meet the needs of the team, and work together as a system, rather than functioning as just individual pieces. German furniture specialist Planmöbel partnered with KINZO to create environmentally friendly, functional furniture sealed with a monolithic surface and a powder-coated finish.

The house is shaped like the eye of Horus, "an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power and good health." Horus, in addition to being the falcon-shaped son of Isis and Osiris, was the God of the sky, of war, and of protection. Horus House. Naturally.

The humble abode boasts 25 bedrooms, five lounges, and an indoor landscaped terrace.
