Cyber Monday in the Workplace [infographic]



Cyber Monday, for those of you who haven’t yet heard of it, is only the BIGGEST day in online shopping of the year. The Monday following Black Friday is a day where many of you will be glued to your computer screens, credit card in hand, making holiday purchases.

Cyber Monday is a relatively new thing having begun in 2004, however it’s youth has not stopped it from growing in popularity. In 2010 the average transaction was $195 up from the 2008 average of $130. Last year’s Cyber Monday also saw a record amount of total money spent the total coming in at $1.03 billion. If you want to save the money, but were too lazy to get up this past Friday you may want to check out some Cyber Monday deals.

The History of Bodybuilding [Infographic]



Bodybuilding did not really exist prior to the late 19th century, when it was promoted by Eugen Sandow of Königsberg, Prussia (now Kaliningrad in Russia) who is now generally referred to as "The Father of Modern Bodybuilding"On 16 January 1904, the first large-scale bodybuilding competition in America took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The winner was Al Treloar and he was declared "The Most Perfectly Developed Man in the World". Treloar won a $1,000 cash prize, a substantial sum at that time.

Retail Sales On Black Friday [Infographic]



If Black Friday 2011 is anything like 2010, retailers are going to be swimming in cash while shoppers bathe in savings. Black Friday deals drew 212 million shoppers to stores in 2010 and collectively spent $39 billion on products and services. The average amount spent by a Black Friday shopper in 2010 was a whopping $365.34!

We predict Black Friday 2011 Sales will surpass all records with a 20% increase over 2010.

Occupy Wall Street [Infographic]

Now a global movement, the OWS is an ongoing demonstration protesting against the difference in wealth between the top 1% of earners and the other citizens of the United States, as well as social and economic inequality, corporate influence in politics, and corporate greed.

By October 9, 70 US cities had or still have demonstrations, while internationally, other "Occupy" protests have started worldwide, with over 2,000 cities now listing meet-ups.

Holiday Spending Forecast [infographic]



We all know consumers spend more during the holiday season than any other time during the year. But did you know 38% of people have already began their yearly shopping extravaganzas?

Online shopping now beats out shopping in stores (for the social media users who responded to the survey) and electronics are at the top of their shopping lists. Seventy-two percent get gift ideas from Facebook, the most popular social network for researching.

The infographic, created by Lab42, also includes some interesting stats, such as the average shopper in 2010 spent $107.50 on themselves. Thirty-one percent of people will spend over $700 this year.

Lab42′s data comes from an online survey of 545 social media users between Oct. 18 and Oct. 20.
